"Clavis" was the name given to the reference works that unlocked a difficult text. Clavis Libri means the key to the book.
What it is
Reading guides to the great novels, chapter by chapter. Each guide says what happens, shows the passages that decide the story, and comments on what they mean. Characters and symbols have their own pages, always grounded in the text.
Themes that talk to each other
The themes follow a single list, the same for all works. So Love in The Red and the Black, in Madame Bovary, and in The Master and Margarita is the same thread, and you can follow an idea from one book to another.
Which books are included
Classics that have crossed generations. The guide accompanies the reading and does not replace it: the work remains the source.
