Sibyl

Prophetess of Apollo, who speaks possessed by the god. The Cumaean Sibyl guides Aeneas in Book VI, answers his request in riddles, demands the golden bough for the descent, and leads him among the dead, describing the punishments of Tartarus, where no one unclean may enter. In Book III it is the seer Helenus who sends Aeneas to find her, because only she will say what the journey will still cost.

There, with the blood of many black cattle, the chaste Sibyl will take you.
