Inferno runs to about 125 pages in an ordinary edition, divided into 34 cantos in linked-rhyme tercets. The number varies with the format and the size of the type, and an edition in verse, with commentary and notes, can take up more leaves.
In words, the Italian original has about 32,600, which averages 960 per canto. The shortest canto is XI, with about 790 words, and the longest is XXXIII, with about 1,100. Since reading poetry is slower than reading prose, the page count hides the fact that each canto has about 140 lines.
For reading without haste, a reading schedule divides the cantica into two weeks, at about 9 pages a day, with breaks at the end of a canto. The first week runs from Canto I to XVII, which closes the violent with Geryon and the descent into Malebolge; the second, from XVIII to XXXIV, with the ten ditches, the ice and Lucifer.
If you read on an e-book, the page count changes, but the count of cantos does not: the 34 cantos are the best measure.
