Jansenist

Follower of Jansenism, a Catholic current born from the ideas of Cornelius Jansen, bishop of Ypres, whose work Augustinus appeared in 1640. It upheld a rigorous reading of Saint Augustine on grace and predestination, was condemned by the Church in several papal bulls, and opposed the moral laxism that it associated with the Jesuits.
